About The Cats:
Savannah cats are trim, tall, unique domestic cats that were first bred in the 1980s. They hold the record as "Tallest Domestic Cat" in the Guinness Book of World Records. They look rather like small cheetahs because of their striking spots against silver or gold fur. Their legs are very long, but perhaps their most distinct feature is their ears, which are enormous when compared to their head size. They make all the feline sounds you expect -- they meow, hiss, and of course, they purr. But they also make others sounds -- like chirping -- that is closely related to their wild cousins, the Serval Cat. The Serval Cat also has enormous ears, particularly in relation to their head size. Although Savannahs have been bred to be striking and unusual pets, there is nothing unusual about the level of care they need. They are just like other domestic cats in this regard, and need no additional vaccinations or extra veterinary care. Although they are not hypo-allergenic, there is no scientific evidence that any breed of domestic cat is, so Savannah cats are not unusual in this regard. They develop a thick coat in winter that can simply be brushed away in spring, but otherwise need no special grooming. It isn't just their spotted appearance that has made Savannah cats famous around the world. They have friendly, animated dispositions that many people say is more like a dog than a typical cat. They love to run and chase toys, and interact beautifully with children. They can live up to 20 years, and many children love them as pets because they grow up together. Savannah cats usually weight 12 to 25 pounds, depending on its diet and gender. But because they are tall and lean, they tend to weigh less than many domestic cats. F1 Savannahs supplies Savannah kittens to most states in the U.S., and if possible we encourage you to drive to pick yours up. We will help you choose the ideal Savannah for your home and circumstances, and know that your kitten will make a wonderful companion and playmate.
